Last week of the 2 nd phase of teaching practice

  Lesson template no 28: On Monday, I taught another important concept, the area of a quadrilateral. I asked some questions to the students in order to recall their previous knowledge in the introduction phase. I used activity cards and ppt containing formula as the teaching learning resources. By doing The blackboard works, I could enhance the effectiveness of the class. The lesson template was effective for the classroom environment. I used inductive and analytic method as the methods of teaching. I used a mixture of english and malayalam languages for effective communication in the classroom. I prepared well for the instruction process so that I had no doubt in the subject matter. 7 th week

 In lesson template no: 23, after giving a clear idea on the formula to find the area of a rhombus, I included more problems in the lesson. I prepared the questions on a ppt for more visibility and attention of the students. It was an opportunity to practice more problems related to the concept for a concrete experience. In lesson template no: 24, I prepared the concept of area of an isosceles trapezium and the idea to find its area. I used models of rectangle and trapezium and showed examples of trapeziums from daily life on a ppt. I carried out a group activity too. The lesson was more engaging. In lesson template no: 25, I prepared a lesson to work out more problems on finding the area of an isosceles trapezium. I presented the questions along with its figures on a ppt. 6th week , innovative work

, This week from 13/01/2025 to 17/01/2025, there were 4 working days only. On 13/01/2025, there was the sub-district level social science talent quiz conducted at the conference hall of GGHSS, Cottonhill. I helped with that also assisting the teachers to conduct the quiz. Tuesday, 14/01/2025 was declared a restricted holiday to 6 districts in Kerala as part of the Pongal celebrations. On Thursday, 16/01/2025 the sent off functions for the students of 10th standard took place at school. On 17/01/2025, the school annual day celebrations were held at the school, with famous Malayalam story writer and poet, Sri. Akhilan Cherukode as the chief guest. The prize distributions for the students participated in various competitions representing the school in sub-district, district and state levels also took place there then. 5 th week reflection

   The 63rd Kerala State School Arts Festival hosted at Thiruvananthapuram this week from 4th January 2025 to 8th January 2025. From 6th January to 8th January I had duties as part of the Arts Festival at the Putharikandam ground and at GGHSS, Cottonhill. GGHSS, Cottonhill was arranged as the stage - 9, Kalladayar, where the Kathakali competitions were held. The food committees for the Arts festival were arranged at the Putharikandam ground and B.Ed trainees were asked to help there. So I had duty on 6th January there. For the rest of the Arts Festival days I did duty at Cottonhill school. So this week the regular classes commenced for only two days and I could only complete one lesson templates this week. Also this Friday, there was a PTA meeting for the students of 8th from 2.30 . In lesson template no:17, I formally started the chapter with the Quadrilaterals section 'Same Area'. 4 th week reflection

  The second phase of teaching practice has resumed after the half-yearly examinations and the Christmas vacation followed on 29th December 2024 on the reopening day of GGHSS, Cottonhill. I got to teach at the same classes - 8A and 8E. I started a new chapter in 8 A - 'Area of quadrilateral'. I started from the 12th lesson template in the class 8H as well from the chapter 'Ratio'. In this week, there has been arrangements at the school as part of the Kerala School Arts Festival which is being held in Thiruvananthapuram this year. The inauguration ceremony of collecting food ingredients as part of the fest has been commenced at the school on Jan 1st with hon'ble Education Minister, Shri. V. Sivankutty as the chief guest. Also, in the evening there was a proclamation rally from the school on the same day. On 3rd January no regular classes commenced as the government declared holiday for the schools hosting the arts festival from 3rd to 8th January. But I had duty on 3...
