6th week , innovative work
, This week from 13/01/2025 to 17/01/2025, there were 4 working days only. On 13/01/2025, there was the sub-district level social science talent quiz conducted at the conference hall of GGHSS, Cottonhill. I helped with that also assisting the teachers to conduct the quiz. Tuesday, 14/01/2025 was declared a restricted holiday to 6 districts in Kerala as part of the Pongal celebrations. On Thursday, 16/01/2025 the sent off functions for the students of 10th standard took place at school. On 17/01/2025, the school annual day celebrations were held at the school, with famous Malayalam story writer and poet, Sri. Akhilan Cherukode as the chief guest. The prize distributions for the students participated in various competitions representing the school in sub-district, district and state levels also took place there then. Due to this, there were no regular classes on that day. I could only complete three lesson templates this week. Also, I had the second optional class observation by Sheeja teacher in this week on 15/01/2025 Wednesday too.
In lesson template no: 19, . I showed a model of parallelogram first. Then I showed a pattern of parallelograms on a ppt also. I presented the first question on ppt. For answering, I used a GeoGebra illustration for making the students understand the construction well. After that I used an application problem to construct another parallelogram. In the end, I added recapitulation questions and a home assignment problem too.
In lesson template no: 20, I continued with problems from the section, 'parallelogram'. I used a model of parallelogram in the introduction part and activity cards for the presentation part. I used ppt to show questions, which also contained its figures. I prepared application question, recapitulation questions and a home assignment problem too. With that I completed that section from the text.
In lesson template no: 21, I prepared the concept of area of square. I used ppt to show examples of squares from daily life and a model of square too. I prepared a group activity with activity cards too. I showed the questions and the generalization of the formula on the ppt. Asking examples from real life, showing models and conducting activity really helped to gather the attention of the students. My teacher advised to improve the class management.
In lesson template no: 22, I prepared the concept of area of rhombus. I used a model of rhombus, then activity cards and a ppt as the teaching aids. I also included an application problem for the letter better understanding of the concept. I introduced the formula to find the area of rhombus. The application problem involved the construction of a non-square rhombus. I used compass and ruler to explain the process
