2 nd week reflection - phase 2

  In this week, I started the chapter 'Ratio'. Sheeja teacher visited my class on 28/11/2024 for the first class observation during this phase. In this week, I completed 8 lesson templates from the chapter. In this week, I got many classes in 8E by substitutions by which I was able to complete the lesson templates with ease along with maintaining a rapport with the students. 


In lesson template no:2, I prepared a lesson to introduce the principle of ratio of two quantities. I used activity cards and PPT as the teaching aids. For the activity, I used a chart as well. I put the generalized idea on the ppt. I also prepared an application question to use this principle. There were distractions in the class and I was trying to improve my class management.


In lesson template No: 3, for doing more problems for practicing the idea of ratio of two quantities, I prepared a lesson template on 'Inquiry Training Model'. As tis was the continuation of problems started in the last class, this model is appropriate here. I used PPT to present the problems as a teaching aid. Use of a model of teaching is slightly different from regular lecture classes and enhanced the engagement of students in the class.


In lesson template no:4, I started the exercise problems from the chapter. I added the problems into a ppt and prepared certain models related to the concept of the question to convey the idea of the problems. I used a model of rectangle. I finished two problems in this class. 


In lesson template no:5, I had class observation by our teacher. I used an introductory activity to check the previous knowledge of the students using activity cards and proper instructions. Students were active and alert. I used questioning method while answering the problems presented on PPT. I used a legible handwriting for the whiteboard work also.


In lesson template no: 6, I added more problems to work out from the exercise problems. Also, for a demonstration of the question, I used an activity with blue and yellow paints. Also, I used a model of a right- angled triangle. After the class, it came to me to improve the relation with students as they might find it boring to only work out problems with no communications.


In lesson template no: 7, I added two problems related to rectangle. So I used a model of the rectangle to seek attention from the students while explaining the questions. I used PPT with questions presented in my class. I think I managed the class properly and focused on everyone while giving instructions also.
