Reflection on the 4 th week

 Reflection of Fourth week ok Teaching Practice

 In this week, I had three working days at GGHSS, cottonhill. In this week, I taught regular polygons in 8J. I used activity card to teach regular polygon. I taught the construction of hexagons and pentagon also. 


In 9F, I finished the chapter Multiplication Identities during this week. As the students are having First Term Examination on the next week, classes were focused on revisions also. The examinations starts from September 3rd. Both 8th and 9th classes are having Mathematics examination on 9th September.

In this week I completed both class examination portion and take revision.It was the fourth week in my teaching practice. In this week, I had classes in 3 days. In the 14th day, I taught the last two problems related to the topic regular polygons. I want to make clarifications for all the problems. I used deductive and lecture method as methods of teaching. I used a mixture of english and malayalam languages for effective communication in the class.


In the 15th day of my teaching practice, I taught about the middle section of the chapter equations. Algebraic method was the topic that I taught. I prepared activity cards and PPT for the effectiveness of the instruction process. 


In the 16th day of my teaching practice, I taught some problems which are solved by using algebraic method. I used blackboard and PPT as teaching-learning resources. I used inductive and heuristic method as methods of teaching.

  In this week, I started the chapter 'Ratio'. Sheeja teacher visited my class on 28/11/2024 for the first class observation during this phase. In this week, I completed 8 lesson templates from the chapter. In this week, I got many classes in 8E by substitutions by which I was able to complete the lesson templates with ease along with maintaining a rapport with the students.  In lesson template no:2, I prepared a lesson to introduce the principle of ratio of two quantities. I used activity cards and PPT as the teaching aids. For the activity, I used a chart as well. I put the generalized idea on the ppt. I also prepared an application question to use this principle. 8 th week reflection

  In this week, I took 9  lessons in total. Also, on Monday, I had my 2nd optional observation class by Sheeja teacher. There was a state-wide campaign program on drug abuse hosted by Cottonhill school on October 2nd, as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The program was arranged by the Education Department, Govt. of Kerala, in which Hon'ble Education minister Shri. V. Shivankutty inaugurated the debate stage.  I studied some sections on the chapter identities in class 8. Inductive method is used as the method of teaching. The interaction between teacher and student was good. I can manage the class. My blackboard work was near and legible. For some of the class I used activity card, and used chart for presentation. I give proper reinforcement to the students. The students give proper response to my question. I think the overall performance was good in this week.
