   This was the last week of the first phase of my teaching practice.  On monday, I got 3 classes in class 8. So I taught about some slightly different problems in the three periods. I think that it was very suitable for the deeper understanding of the  l concept of sum and difference. I used ppt, blackboard and activity cards for the effectiveness of the instruction process. I used heuristic, deductive and lecture method as methods of teaching.  On Tuesday, I conducted diagnostic test on my period in class 8. That day also, I got extra two periods as the teacher was on training. Today also I continued the problems which also includes the calendar math. Students were very attentive during this session. I used a calendar, ppt and blackboard as teaching learning resources.  On Wednesday, I completed the chapter identities. The last problems were discussed by using activity cards and ppt.   In this week, I completed the lesson plans 32 to 38 in the classes 8J. The chapter 'Identities' has been completed in this week. A new chapter 'Money Math' was started also. Some major identities has been taught geometrically with the help of teaching aids like Models, charts and PPT presentations. In lesson template No: 32, the identity which was taught needed using models to present the geometrical idea of the same. Apart from the models, I used activity cards too for engaging student activities. On that class, almost everything was managed including time and classroom order. Use of activity cards has always helped in enhancing students' interest and engagement in the class.  In lesson template No: 33, on the topic 'Difference of squares', I had used another set of models and activity cards which enabled to present the same identity in a different interpreting way.   In this week, I completed the lesson plans 27 to 31 in the classes 8J . The chapter 'Identities' has been completed in this week. A new chapter 'Construction ' was started also. Some major identities has been taught geometrically with the help of teaching aids like Models, charts and PPT presentations. In lesson template No: 27, the identity which was taught need21ed using models to present the geometrical idea of the same.   In this week, I took 9  lessons in total. Also, on Monday, I had my 2nd optional observation class by Sheeja teacher. There was a state-wide campaign program on drug abuse hosted by Cottonhill school on October 2nd, as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The program was arranged by the Education Department, Govt. of Kerala, in which Hon'ble Education minister Shri. V. Shivankutty inaugurated the debate stage.  I studied some sections on the chapter identities in class 8. Inductive method is used as the method of teaching. The interaction between teacher and student was good. I can manage the class. My blackboard work was near and legible. For some of the class I used activity card, and used chart for presentation. I give proper reinforcement to the students. The students give proper response to my question. I think the overall performance was good in this week.
